The GT50 is a GSM fixed wireless terminal that converts calls from regular land line phones to go out using a GSM cellular network. The GT50 is similar to the GT100-LCR but without the least cost routing capability between landline and GSM networks. Instead the GT50 only sends calls out via the GSM network. For most areas outside the U.S, calls from a land line to a cellular phone are very expensive. However, mobile to mobile calls are very affordable, The GT50 reduces the cost of calls from landline phones to mobile phones by switching the landline phone’s calls onto a GSM network.
